INTERNATIONAL EXCHANGES
URRA carries out international exchanges in partnership with organizations from around the world, fostering collaboration between local artists and artists from the region or the country of the partner organization.
These exchanges provide participants with an art residency that offers a platform for production, dissemination, and interaction with the local and international art scene. The program includes support for the residents and their participation in public activities, among which the Audiovisual Presentations and Open Studios are highlighted.
To date, we have organized the following programs:
GASWORKS + URRA (2015–present)
Exchange program between the United Kingdom and Argentina, ongoing since 2015.
The Gasworks + URRA Residency program offers Argentine and British visual artists the opportunity to participate in a three-month art residency at Gasworks (London) and URRA (Buenos Aires), respectively.
This program is made possible with the support of ERA (Erica Roberts Art Foundation) and is developed in partnership with arteBA Foundation.
AIR-M (Artist in Residence Munich) + URRA (2021–2025)
Exchange program between Buenos Aires and Munich, 2021–2025.
This program established a partnership between the Department of Art and Culture of the City of Munich (Kulturreferat der Landeshauptstadt München) and URRA (Buenos Aires), allowing visual artists from both cities to participate in a three-month art residency at AIR-M Villa Waldberta (located on Lake Starnberg, Munich) and URRA (City and Province of Buenos Aires), respectively.
It was made possible with the support of the Goethe-Institut Buenos Aires, Instituto Cervantes Munich, the Government of the Autonomous City of Buenos Aires, and the Embassy of Germany in Argentina.
ATELIER MONDIAL + URRA (2013–2021)
Atelier Mondial, Basel, Switzerland
Exchange program between Buenos Aires and Basel, 2013–2021.
This program established a partnership between Atelier Mondial (Basel) and URRA (Buenos Aires), allowing visual artists from the Basel region and Argentina to participate in a three-month art residency at Atelier Mondial (Basel) and URRA (Buenos Aires), respectively.
It was made possible with the support of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Argentina, ERA (Erica Roberts Art Foundation), and especially the artEDU Stiftung Foundation of Switzerland.
PAIR Pier2 + URRA (2017–2018)
Exchange program between Taiwan and Argentina, carried out in 2017 and 2018.
This program established a partnership between Pier-2 and URRA, offering Argentine and Taiwanese artists—from the Municipality of Tigre and the Municipality of Kaohsiung—the opportunity to participate in a three-month art residency at Pier-2 (Kaohsiung) and URRA Tigre/Buenos Aires, respectively.
It was made possible with the support of the Municipality of Tigre (Argentina), the Municipality of Kaohsiung (Taiwan), and the Embassy of Taiwan in Argentina.
YAXS + URRA (2017)
Exchange program between Guatemala and Argentina, carried out in 2017.
This program established a partnership between YAXS and URRA, offering one artist from Argentina and one artist from Guatemala the opportunity to participate in a two-month art residency at YAXS (Guatemala City) and URRA Tigre/Buenos Aires, respectively.
It was made possible with the support of the YAXS Foundation (Guatemala) and the VERIA Foundation (Argentina).
RANCHITO MATADERO + URRA (2017)
Exchange program between Spain and Argentina, carried out in 2017.
Through this exchange, two artists from Spain participated in a two-month art residency at URRA Tigre/Buenos Aires, and four artists from Argentina participated in a two-month residency at Ranchito Matadero (Madrid).
This program was made possible with the support of the Spanish Agency for International Development Cooperation (AECID), the National Arts Fund (FNA), and the Ministry of Culture of Argentina, within the framework of ARCO Madrid 2017, with Argentina as the guest country.
